To celebrate the release of the final installment of the Hollower Trilogy, I’m doing a giveaway!  From 5 p.m. today, June 1st, until 5 p.m. Friday, June 8th, everyone who buys a copy of THE TRIUMVIRATE Hard Rain edition and then leaves a comment on this post letting me know will be entered into a drawing to win one of 5 t-shirts, shown below.  All shirts are sized XL, and feature a portion of Thrall‘s beautiful cover art by Vincent Chong, as well as lettering on both the front and back.

THE TRIUMVIRATE Hard Rain Edition Now Available!

For those of you holding out for a more economically friendly version of The Triumvirate, the third book in the Hollower Trilogy, the Hard Rain version is now shipping.  Affordably priced at $35 (+$5 for media mail shipment), the text is identical to the Supercell edition, but the packaging is slightly different.

This book resolves the the Hollower story arc, as well as connecting my other books in a larger mythos.  If you liked the first two books, I would recommend picking this one up.  It is easily my favorite of the three Hollower books, and I hope you’ll agree.  Plus the beautiful artwork by David Ho is collectible in and of itself.

This edition of The Triumvirate is limited to 165 signed, limited copies.

Available and Upcoming Work 2012

For those in need of a handy reference or curious about trying my work out, books of mine currently available (in varying quantities) are as follows:

 

I think filming for the short movie of “Goth & Crow” based on my short story of the same name should be starting toward the end of this year.  Details to follow.  Also, the short film of “Letting Go” is being worked on as well.

Thrall is currently available for Kindle for only $4.99. In about two months, the audio book will be available as well for $19.77 (pre-orders available now). Although there are no solid plans at present for a paperback version of this book, I’m looking into options.

For Emmy is currently available for Kindle. Hard cover versions are sold out, but I’ll have paperback copies on hand to sign and sell at upcoming conventions and appearances (please see Appearances page for details). Copies are limited.

My first two books, The Hollower and Found You, are available in limited edition, signed hard covers. There are very few of these left, but I understand a few copies do still remain. These are part of a set which will include The Triumvirate. There should be news sometime later this year regarding an audio book version of The Hollower.

The Triumvirate Supercell edition has shipped, completing the Hollower Trilogy. For those who already have the first two books and just want to read this new one, The Triumvirate will also be available as part of Thunderstorm Books’ Hard Rain Series, due to ship in the next two weeks or so.

I am currently working on a long story titled “Anathema,” which will be available as a chapbook later this year. Details to follow.  I am also working on a new novel which I think you’ll enjoy, and a rare non-supernatural short story as well.  Keeping busy.  It’s horror writer hands that are the devil’s playground…. 😉

Website Updates

I’ve made some updates to the website here, primarily in that I’ve revamped the sidebar to the right a little.  I’ve renamed the former Interviews page as Media and Interviews.  Also, I’ve posted 1) an audio clip of my presentation on the lesser-known Do’s and Don’t’s of novel and short story publishing, and also 2) a neat little video interview with a local VA cable access TV channel that I, Brian Keene, and a number of other authors did back in 2004.  Enjoy!

News Regarding THE TRIUMVIRATE and THRALL

For those of you who already have The Hollower and Found You and are looking for a nice but economical edition of The Triumvirate to pick up, Thunderstorm Books is shipping copies of the Hard Rain edition at the end of this week.  There are a handful of the Collector Sets left as well, if you’re still interested in picking up the Hollower Trilogy books all together.  Paul G. will match the numbers in the set for you.  It may be a while before any of these three books appears in any other format, especially The Triumvirate, so I’d at least recommend picking up the Hard Rain version.

The audiobook version of Thrall has been completed and is the queue for release (I believe in June).  From the sampling of Chapter 1 I heard, it’s going to sound great.  Amazon is accepting pre-orders now at a nice discount for $19.77.

Mo*Con Report and GSHW Appearance Reminder

I just got back from Mo*Con yesterday. It was an amazing time.  I laughed until my sides hurt, and also talked about writing and the impact of race, religion, spirituality, sex/gender, orientation, and personal experience on our work.  I had a wonderful time talking shop and cracking jokes with Maurice and Sally Broaddus, Nate Southard, Mary Robinette Kowal, Chesya Burke, Rodney, Jim Cobb, Jerry Gordon, Micheles Lee and Pendergast, Michael West, Gary Braunbeck, Lucy Snyder, and so, so many more.  It really was a privilege to have been invited as a Guest of Honor.  Thank you especially to Maurice, Sally, and Rodney, and to the whole Mo*Con team for making my first time as Guest of Honor anywhere so special.

Speaking of appearances, for those of you in the NJ/eastern PA area, I will be giving a talk to my old beloved writing group, the Garden State Horror Writers, next Saturday, May 12th.  The meeting starts at 11am at the East Brunswick Public Library, and I will probably go on around 12pm.  My topic is The Esoteric Do’s and Don’t’s of Writing.  Basically, I’ll be talking about things writers do that hurt their careers and how to avoid these pitfalls. I will also offer some less commonly known advice to help writers go from slush pile to published.  This is a great group and I’m delighted to have been invited to talk to them.  So if you’re in the area, come on down.  Also, Brian will be with me in an unofficial capacity, and both of us will sign books after the meeting for folks if you’d like us to.

TRIUMVIRATE Now Shipping and Mo*Con Appearance Reminder

The Supercell version of The Triumvirate arrived in the mail today, and has begun shipping to customers. I understand there are a limited number left, and we anticipate they will sell out, so if you’re planning on grabbing a copy, I wouldn’t wait too long. If you’re holding off for the Hard Rain version, those should begin shipping, I believe, in another 2-4 weeks.  Ordering information for both versions should be available on the Thunderstorm website by Monday.

For those of you in Indiana, near Indiana, not near Indiana but with disposable travel income, or up for a good ol’ fashioned American road trip, I’ll be one of the Guests of Honor this weekend at Mo*Con.  In addition to copies of For Emmy that I will have on hand to sign, I will also have a very limited number of some rare/hard-to-find books and stories of mine.   So come on out if you can make it!  I’d love to see you.

HOLLOWER and FOUND YOU Almost Gone!

I just wanted to let folks know that Thunderstorm Books is down to single digit numbers of copies left in the Hollower Collectors’ Set (Supercell Series) copies of The Hollower and Found You.  If you want to pick up copies, now is the time.

Also, as a reminder, if you’re looking to pick up only the third book in the trilogy, The Triumvirate, it should be available late June/early July as a part of the Hard Rain series.  This book ties in Thrall and For Emmy, as well as wrapping up the Hollower stories and explaining a good deal of background about the Hollowers as well as a number of other monsters in Bloomwood County, NJ, both past and forthcoming.
